All executive operations have been suspended at the Nairobi City County until governor elect Mike Sonko takes office.
City Hall has suspended contracts, leases, assignments and processing of payments that require CEC approval.
Public Service chief officer Leboo ole Morintat issued a memo to all chief officers and directors on Tuesday on behalf of county secretary Robert Ayisi,
The memo reads: The county is in a transition period and it would be prudent that activities that require consent and authoriaation of the executive, as outlined, are suspended or processed after approval by the county secretary until the conclusion of the changeovers for ease of accountability."
Officers were asked to ensure those they supervise are briefed to prevent breaches."
The move is meant to curb fraudulent deals that officers in the outgoing administration may want to execute.
