Opposition leader Raila Odinga is headed to a landslide victory in his Nyanza backyard with early projections showing massive turnout.
Projections done in a number of polling stations but the reporter in Gusii region shows that Odinga the veteran opposition leader may extend his lead in the vote rich region.
At least 80 percent of a sample of 50 voters shows that the ODM leader is steadily leading in a region perceived to be a tossup.
During early morning hours, Matatu drivers in Kisii town carried out a random patrol in Kisii, Keroka and Nyamira tons where they provided means of transport, persuading voters to elect Odinga.
At Kisii Primary School, long queues were seen with unidentified mobilisers heard urging locals to make change.
Over 800, 000 votes are for grabs in Kisii and Nyamira Counties and a recent opinion poll by Infotrack put Odinga at pole position to win presidency.
A tough contest is expected between the two leaders given that pollsters showed a tight race with barely 2 percent separating Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
