Peter Ngure says there are many politicians who could be feeling dissatisfied  in Jubilee Party and might be working on their way out of the party.

Ngure said on Sunday that the recent defection of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s adviser on Education Kilemi Mwiria, and Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti to Maendeleo Chap Chap, is just a tip on the iceberg.

The analyst says that more politicians from Uhuru’s camp could be lined up to defect to other parties ahead of nominations.

Ngure notes that majority of heavy weight politicians in JP are worried on whether they will survive during the party nominations.

“We are yet to see more defections and Uhuru’s party will be among those that will suffer most in terms of its members defecting to other parties,” he said.

The analyst blamed unclear structures in Jubilee party to the defections being witnessed.

He also blamed political supremacy and wrangles among JP leaders and officials at the grass roots for the defections.

Ngure notes that the defection though will not hamper Uhuru’s presidential bid directly, it will affect the party’s popularity.

The analyst added that small parties that have not merged with any coalition stand to benefit in terms of defection.

On Thursday last week former Tigani MP Kilemi Mwiria decamped to Maendeleo Chap Chap Party.

On Saturday, Senator Kivuti, Embu deputy governor Dorothy Nditi and 23 MCAs from the county decamped to Mutua’s party.

Kivuti and Nditi cited political supremacy among JP officials at the county level as the major reason for their defection.

The politicians claimed that forces are controlling the party hence their decision to seek refuge elsewhere.

Governor Mutua’s party is the beneficiary of the ongoing defections.

Last week, Mutua said that he expects more politicians from big parties to join his Maendeleo Chap Chap Party ahead of the August polls.

Mutua assured everyone seeking ticket on Maendeleo Chap Chap of fair and transparent nominations.
