The residents Fridqy said that the exercise risked losing its meaning should the rainy season kick off as floods would sweep away the murram already applied and in the process roll back all the gains made.

"We have witnessed light showers for the past two days and should the county government fail to complete the road exercise in record time then the exercise will end up in futility as they have not developed better storage to mitigate floods should it rain," said Bill Kimani. Mannaseh Okello also noted that since the graders pulled out of the area two weeks ago they were wondering whether the exercise would be finished before the rains.

Mary Ayuma however wanted the exercise completed over health reasons citing the ever present dust as the main issue.

However no county officials could be reached to comment on the issue as their calls went unanswered.
