Cases of cyber crime could soon overtake physical crimes like mugging and robbery if measures are not taken to address them.

Information technology expert Dennis Mbugua said the dynamism in the technology world is increasingly posing danger to the safety of key sectors such as banking because criminals are devising new ways of stealing from them.

He added that there was need to train security officers and detectives on matters technology so as to avert the current state of affairs where investigating cyber related crimes have either stalled or dismissed in the courts. 

Mbugua added that there is also the need for banking sectors to hire tech-savvy graduates to ensure such incidences are nipped stating that the only way to address the issue is taking precautionary measures.
