"To the editor of Standard Newspaper’s Palaver: Please do your homework before rushing to publish Sir. Interior CS Dr. Matiang’i has not “run of out steam” nor is he“missing in action.” He has been on an official tour of US and just got back home yesterday," he said.
Mwenda further stated teh CS was scheduled to take part in official functions in the country.
"CS Matiang’i arrived in the country yesterday evening and today has two official functions. One in Murang’a and another in Kiambu despite the long and tiring journey from Washington DC," he added.4
On Tuesday, the Standard through the Palaver section questioned why Dr Matiang'i had been silent noting how vocal he(Matiang'i) was when he took over the Ministry.
