Two explosions on Friday morning rocked Bula Hawa area in Mandera county near the Kenya-Somalia border.
According to police officers, the blasts are suspected to have been caused by home-made bombs which were planted 15 meters apart from each other.
However, Mandera County Commissioner Fredrick Shisia has contradicted the reports stating that only one explosion occurred.
“The IED device exploded at about 8am at the border but no one was injured,” Shisia is quoted by the Nation.
He added that Somali-based militia group Al shabaab is suspected to have orchestrated the explosions.
