Barely a day after his maiden tour to Nyamira, Deputy President William Ruto is now on the receiving end over re-launching of old projects.
At Nyamira, Ruto commissioned Nyangori water project, Kemera-Amabuko road, last mile connectivity besides issuing Sh400 million to Nyamira Teaching and Referral.
But ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire, who served as Kitutu Masaba MP between 2013-17, dismissed the projects arguing that most of them were launched during his tenure.
“It is funny that he is funding Keroka Hospital to a tune of Sh100 million yet it is not factored in the budget same as NTRH (Sh400 million),” he said.
The former MP added: “He is launching Kemera-Amabuko road which is half way done without telling us what precipitated the contractor to leave.”
Further, Bosire said, funding of Kitutu Masaba Technical College was done in 2016/17 financial year and the decision by the DP to give further Sh50 million was suspicious.
“I fully funded Kitutu Masaba Institute and the rest was catered in the budget. You even saw the water project was is a done deal. He just came to relaunch old projects,” he said.
At Rigoma on Monday, Ruto dismissed Bosire as a ‘noise maker’ adding that during his leadership he failed to spur growth in the region.
The DP defended his movements across the country insisting that he is performing his duties as enshrined in the constitution.
