At Naivasha on Tuesday, Raila gave a closest hint of his impending role, which was part of teh agreement with Uhuru in the surprise handshake.

"It is not about 2022. We have had presidents, Prime Ministers and even Chief Cabinet Secretaries," he said while responding to those claiming he will contest in 2022.

In his statement, Raila introduced the post of Chief Cabinet Secretary, which has however never been held before in the country.

And a recent leaked constitutional amendment bill indicated that there shall be introduced the Chief Cabinet Secretary post, which will be equivalent to Prime Minister.

"Obviously the partnership will see him coordinating various government functions in ministries. It is part of the agreement," said a senior ODM official in confidence.

A former MP who is closely associated with Raila added: "It is just a matter of time that we have some few changes. Chief Cabinet Secretary post will allow him to serve Kenyans before retiring."

But in his Naivasha speech, Raila warned people he termed as 'Shylocks' who wants to benefit from his handshake with Uhuru.

Understandably, he is reportedly concerned that his new partnership could not accommodate everyone in terms of job rewards.
