Before Saturday's protocol hitch at Moi Forces Academy that saw Governor Mike Sonko accusing State House of sabotage, the flamboyant governor had an altercation with PS Karanja Kibicho in President Uhuru Kenyatta's presence.
Sonko has often linked the powerful Interior PS of allegedly sabotaging service delivery at City Hall by trying to run the show.
A month ago, Kenya News Live reports, Sonko bitterly exchanged with Kibicho at State House in Uhuru's presence.
The two had gone to attend Nairobi Regeneration Project, a partnership between the National and county governments.
An agitated Uhuru is said to have cautioned the two and asked for truce.
Early this week, Sonko linked his slow delivery to "cartels" within OP led by Kibicho who are reportedly hiding in Uhuru's name to intimidate him.
Despite the accusations lavelled against him, Kibicho has often claimed that the difference emerged after he banned Sonko from flying flags in his official vehicle.
Just hours before nominating Miguna, Sonko snubbed Uhuru's handshake at Naivasha an indication that relationship between the two may have substantially dwindled.
