Instead, the DP had his party cut short after waiting for two hours without being given access to Moi at Kabarak home.

"We have tried all along to visit Mzee by his son makes our mission all the time impossible," said Kipchumba Murkomen, Ruto's ally in reference to Gideon Moi.

A statement released by communication team of Moi in Kabaraka claimed that the former President had an appointment with his doctors at the time Ruto arrived.

But according to the paper, Ruto left the compound frustrated given that his mission remained unaccomplished.

"Our party was cut short. The main mission was to have a photo opportunity with Moi so that it could boost Ruto's chances," said a source in confidence.

Since then, it is understood, the young Moi has written to the IG to have security team at his father's home changed, insisting that some of them sneaked Ruto into the compound.

Both Ruto and Gideon Moi are embroiled in a vicious succession battle ahead of 2022 when President Uhuru Kenyatta retires.

Tiaty MP William Kamket had however claimed that the DP handlers had not been cleared to visit Moi by the time they sneaked in the DP.
