Kinuthia was in Netherlands when he learnt of the President and his Deputy William Ruto trip.

The revelations has thrust the county's political landscape into spin.

"It is not yet clear why the governor was not notified of the trip in advance. We have been thrown into an akward position," a political ally of the governor said.

Suspicion was rife on whether the Jubilee alliance has fallen out with Kinuthia's administration hence the President was not keen to be hosted by the governor.

"I think Governor Kinuthia Mbugua's administration has lost favour with President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration," Lex Ander, a maverick Nakuru-based journalist, posted on Tuesday.

Interesting, the matter raised political suspicion but those close to the governor preferred to remain mum on the issue.

"Something is not adding up but let's wait and see. But whether this was by design or default, the damage is done," a TNA MCA said.

George Kimani, who is angling for Biashara Ward MCA post, said the president did not wish to be dragged into local politics.

"The trip puts Uhuru in a delicate position. We are headed to an election and the president has been complaining of incumbents in his political strongholds who use his trips in the areas and photo session to claim he has endorsed their reelection, " Kimani said.

Kimani adds that Nakuru has a complex political game for Uhuru as all the front runners for the governor's seat are his close allies.

"When you put the next election into perspective, you can understand why the trip didn't care so much about governor Kinuthia," he said.

"There is Lee Kinyajui, Mututho, and Kinuthia wa Mwangi. All these are Uhuru's political friends. He must find a way of going about with Kinuthia without giving him political mileage," Kimani, a graduate of Thogoto Teachers College said.
