NASA luminaries Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang'ula, Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga. Makali vied for Bungoma senatorial seat on Mudavadi's ANC [Photo/THE STAR]Veteran Journalist and former Bungoma senatorial aspirant David Makali has resigned from Amani National Congress.
Mr Makali, who unsuccessfully vied for the Bungoma senatorial seat tendered his resignation from the NASA affiliate party on August 18 days after losing to Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya.
The Star reports that he wrote to his party; "Being a registered and paid life member, I hereby tender my resignation as a member of ANC effective today."
His move is the latest kick on NASA after major defections were registered recently.
Former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar, Ex-Bomet governor Isaac Ruto and his Vihiga counterpart Moses Akaranga are notable political figures that have moved out of the Raila Odinga led house.
Omar cited poor leadership from Kalonzo Musyoka in his Wiper party. Isaac Ruto on his part said he had returned "home" when he moved back to Jubilee.
Mr Makali joined NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi's party after disagreement with former Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba at Labour Party of Kenya (LPK).
On March 20 Makali resigned as secretary general of LPK differences on the party's preferred candidate for the presidency amid preparations for the August 8 poll.
He later managed to have his name on the August 8 ballot through ANC but lost to Ford Kenya party chief Moses Wetangula.
