Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua has been nominated to a continental award featuring one hundred influential personalities among them presidents and former presidents in Africa.

An elated Dr Mutua expressed his gratitude via Twitter after leading Global Reputation-Management Consulting Company, Reputation Poll, released its inaugural list of 100 Most Reputable Africans in 2018.

The list which features individuals from diverse sectors including: Leadership, Entertainment, Advocacy, Education and Business has a representation from 33 African Countries with 55 males and 45 females.

The list of 100 Africans has Nigeria leading with 21 individuals with South Africa, Kenya and Ghana following respectively.

Very prominent personalities featured in the list include: Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, Nigeria’s Prof Yemi Osibanjo, South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa, and Mauritius’s Ameenah Gurib.

The individuals are drawn from three cadres of influence; governance, business, fight against corruption and leadership.

The governance scope features 3 African Presidents, 2 Vice Presidents, 2 former Presidents, a former Vice President, a First lady, Members of Parliament and Ministers.

In Business; Strive Masiyiwa, Koos Bekker, Barclays Bank’s Patience Akyianu and Wendy Lucas Bull are represented for their works across the continent.

Ghana’s special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu and South Africa’s Public Prosecutor, Busisiwe Mkhwebane have been listed for their fight against corruption.

For the Leadership respect; Dr. Josephine Ojiambo, H.E Graça Machel DBE, Dr Paul Enenche and Winnie Byanyima have been enlisted.

Reputationpoll.com said the persons featured carry great potency in the vigor of their social impact, as well as Social Entrepreneurs who are transforming businesses in Africa and affecting lives positively without controversy.

The ranking firm is known globally for its annual ranking of the 100 Most Reputable People on Earth and Most Reputable CEOs in various countries.

KFCB’s Dr Ezekiel Mutua has been on the forefront regulating film content in the country. His leadership at the country’s film regulator has earned him a name- Kenya’s moral cop.

In a tweet seen by Hivisasa.com, the KFCB boss said: “I am humbled to feature in the Reputable Poll 100 most reputable Africans. Congratulations too to other distinguished Kenyans who have featured on the same. Service to man is service to God!”

He added; "It's gratifying to know that my firm crusade in promoting moral values and African culture through content regulation is being acknowledged and appreciated locally, continentally and globally."

Other prominent Kenyans in the list include: as Chief Justice David Maraga, media personality and businesswoman Julie gichguru and lawyer Prof. PLO Lumumba.
