Kenya Films and Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua has asked Kenyan media to avoid providing space to leaders perpetuating hate speech.

Mutua said it was unfortunate that the youth were watching leaders fighting in podiums and making utterances that risk dividing the nation.

"Time has come for the media to play its role in promoting positive moral values by portraying what unites us more than what divides us," he said.

Mutua said KFCB will continue advocating for regulation of media content that seeks to destroy nationhood, promote radicalisation and ultimately disrupt the social order.
