Nassir is a close ally and confidant of ODM Party leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.

The second time Mvita MP is also being lined up as possible successor's of governor Hassan Joho in 2022.

Political pundits argue that Nassir could be Joho's perfect replacer in the 2022 polls.

1. Born in 1974

He was born in Majengo, Mombasa county in 1974.

The Mvita MP is the son to veteran politician Sharrif Nassir.

The veteran politician was a close ally and confidant of retired President Daniel Arap Moi.

The Nassir family is among the influential and political famed families in the country.

2. Schooling

He joined Aga Khan Primary School in 1981 before shifting to Coast Academy where he did his KCPE in 1988. 

He joined  to Lenana High School in 1989  and sat for his KCSE in 1992.

3. Scored B Plain 

The Mvita  lawmaker scored a B plain and enrolled for a Diploma in Aviation before venturing into family business.

4. Mvita MP

Nassir was elected MP in 2013 general election on ODM ticket, defeating the now Tourism CS Najib Balala.

He won re-election in last year's (2017) general election on the Orange party.

5. PIC Chair

Nassir is the National Assembly Public Investment Committee (PIC) chairperson. 

He has also served in various National Assembly parliamentary committees.

6. Inspiration

The Mvita MP says he was inspired by his father Sharrif Nassir to join politics.

7. CEO Rahma Radio

The Mvita MP doubles up as the Chief Executive Officer of Rahma radio based in Mombasa.

The MP is passionate about addressing issues facing his constituents especially education, healthcare and insecurity.

He has been vocal against youth radicalization, extra judicial killings and drug abuse menace.

Nassir is among youthful politicians to watch ahead of the 2022 general election.
