Nairobi County Senator Johnson Sakaja is believed to be an example of what youths can do when given opportunity.
These are some of the little-known facts about the senator:
Being an actuarial scientist and his mathematical skills, Sakaja was able to come up with a mathematical formula used for allocation of constituencies to various regions of the country.
The formula was wholly adopted in the Kenyan constitution as article 89.
He also joined Kenyan politics at a young age of 23 as former President Kibaki’s campaign team and also played key roles such as sitting of tallying centers.
During an interview with Radio Jambo, the politician revealed that he is talented musician.
Hon. Sakaja is not only a poet but he is also a rapper and a bass guitarist.
Sakaja is also a rugby fan and also loves boxing.
He plays both games and also serves as the patron of Kenyan Professional Boxing council, perhaps, that is why he do not like bodyguards.
He also bought his dream car, Mercedes Benz, while in second year at University of Nairobi. He had stuck a photo of his dream car on his locker to maintain his focus whenever he lost it.
Hilariously, when Sakaja was asked to repeat pre-primary, he held a one-man demonstration in their house carrying a placard written “No Class One, No School”.
