The former Juja MP’s political career was revived after being elected speaker in 2017.

Ndichu, a no-nonsense politician was an ally of retired President Daniel Arap Moi.

The Assembly speaker served as Juja MP during Moi’s tenure and was considered among his (Moi’s) powerful men from Mt Kenya region.

Ndichu lost re-election as Juja MP in the 2002 general election after ditching Moi’s KANU party.

The Kiambu Assembly speaker lost the Juja seat in the 2002 polls to former Kiambu governor William Kabogo.

In 2007, Ndichu again unsuccessfully contested for the Juja seat losing to the late former MP  George Thuo.

Thuo’s victory was challenged in court by Kabogo and the court nullified his win forcing a by-election.

In 2009 by-election, Ndichu again unsuccessfully vied for the seat that was won by Kabongo.

Ndichu did not give up and in 2013 he contested for the Kiambu senate seat losing to Kimani Wamatangi.

In 2017, the veteran politician unsuccessfully vied for the Githunguri Parliamentary seat.

He was however rescued by Governor Ferdinand Waititu who fronted him for the Kiambu Assembly speaker seat which he easily clinched.

Ndichu’s election as Kiambu assembly speaker revived his career and political pundits say that he will play a key role in the Mt Kenya 2022 succession politics.

The Assembly speaker is known for his firm political decisions and he is said to have ruthlessly dealt with land grabbers in Juja during his tenure as MP.

Apart from politics, Ndichu is a preacher, a businessman, a family man and loves adventure.

In an interview with journalists in Kiambu recently, Ndichu said that he is committed to serving the Kiambu people.

“My leadership is focused on raising the bar on trustfulness, trustworthiness, and accountability in running the assembly affairs to facilitate Kiambu’s transformation,” Ndichu said recently.
