The vulva is generally the external female genital area.
This is different from the vagina which is a connection between the cervix and the vulva.
These are five facts about your vulva:
1. It has parts
It has two sets of labia, minora and majora, there is also an opening of the urethra, vaginal opening and the clitoris head.
2. Hair grows on it
That region will grow hair during puberty.
This hair at times is a shield to your skin during rough sex.
You should know that as you age, the hair will turn grey just like what happens on your head.
Dying it is a waste of time and resources.
3. Varies in color
There is a possibility that the color of your vulva will vary from the rest of the body.
It can be darker or lighter when compared to other body parts, this should not worry you.
4. It is sensitive
This region needs some special shaving due to its sensitivity.
You can easily have razor burns.
To avoid razor burns, shave in the direction of your hair and this should be done immediately after showering because the hair is soft.
5. Needs little special care
The vulva needs the general daily care.
Use a condom properly, shower regularly and go for regular STI tests.
It does not needs excess attention which at times causes irritation.
