James Kavuta and Desmond Mutune denied that they were found donning police regalia on September 9, at Kivumbini estate in the outskirts of Nakuru town.

According to the prosecution, the two, who appeared before senior principal magistrate Felix Kombo, are part of a gang that has been terrorising residents.

The court heard that the duo, among them an ex-police officer, were arrested by police following a tip off from the public. The accused were allegedly found in possession of police gear which consisted a police shirt, a pair of trousers and police boots.

Initially, the suspects were remanded at Bondeni police station before being charged in court.

They were later remanded at the Nakuru Central police station where they are helping police with investigations.
