A ‘fake doctor’ was Monday arrested at the Nakuru Level 5 hospital while administering treatment to several unsuspecting patients.

The ‘fake doctor’ identified as George Mburu aged 33, was arrested as the clinical officer in charge of the hospital Joseph Kiprotich Keriyo was going about his duties.

The man who was only found with his National Identity card was fully dressed as a doctor and had a stethoscope hanging around his neck.

It is said that he had been operating at the outpatient department for the past one week calling himself Jenarius Njuguna.

He added the ‘fake doctor’ is suspected to have been collecting money from unsuspecting patients.

Mburu told journalists he was working on a voluntary basis.

He also added that he studied at Tracom College in Nakuru where he undertook a course in medicine.

Police arrived at the hospital and took Mburu to Central police station in Nakuru for questioning.

According to the hospital, they are trying to establish how many patients received his ‘services’.
