The two were found with licenses worth Sh40,000. One of the suspects said that the licenses were made in Nairobi and taken to Kisii for sale.

Confirming the incident, Kisii county CID Director, Paul Wambugu said that they were investigating the issue and they would bring all involved to book.

“We have arrested two of them and investigations are on to fish out more of them and bring them to book,” Wambugu said.

Last year many licenses were said to have been lost and only a few were found but the suspect found with them is still at large.

Meanwhile, a woman had also been arrested for giving birth to a child and throwing the infant into a latrine in Getare, Borabu.

Confirming the incident, area chief Margret Sagini said that they were informed of the act after residents heard the infants cries coming from the latrine.

Sagini came to the scene of the incident in the company of police officers and they luckily were able to save the infant from the latrine and took it to hospital where it is receiving treatment.

“I was informed by residents and we came with my officers and luckily we managed to rescue the baby who is in hospital for treatment. We have arrested the mother and we will take her to court,” said Sagini.

The woman is waiting to be arraigned in court.
