A section of University staff and students attended Edwin Kabiru's burial.

Kabiru was found dead in his room on that fateful day, and according to postmortem results communicated to the media by the institution, the late was hit by a blunt object that caused profuse bleeding, leading to his death.

This was confirmed by doctors at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary where the postmortem was conducted.

Kabiru's death resulted into protests by students at the University's Main Campus in Kesses, Eldoret on the same day, who decried rise of insecurity.

Some students were arrested as they engaged police in running battles. They spent a night at Langas Police Station and were later released.
