Bura and Tana Delta sub counties are the most affected by the floods due to heavy rains being witnessed in the region and across the country.

Mr. Bombe added that there was a big congestion at the camps, with more than 2000 families seeking refugee from the camps.

“We are currently evacuating those who have been marooned in Tana Delta. The camps are congested due to the huge population,” said Mr. Bombe, as quoted by the Daily Nation

Still in Tana Delta, crocodile attacks have also been reported. The crocodile bit a man while he was trying escape the floods to safety.

In last week, villagers were sporting crocodiles moving from the river into the flooded villages, making it more dangerous for residents trying to escape the floods.

The number of those who have lost lives has risen to six people, including the latest one of a man working with the National Youth Service (NYS), who was swept away by the floods while trying to cross the broken Bura-Madogo Road, which had been flooded.
