A family from Bomanyanya sub location in West Mugirango in Nyamira County has accused NyamiraNyamira Governor John Nyagarama for pushing the construction of Nyamokenye health center on their land illegally.
The family, led by Victor Nyakang’i, claimed that West Mugirango location Chief Livingston Mabuka, Governor John Nyagarama and some powerful leaders grabbed the land.
Nyakang’i said the county government forged title deed to claim the ownership of the land.
“The County government used force to grab the land and forged a land title deed yet we acquired the land title deed using the legally.
"We will not surrender the keys for the newly constructed health center to the authorities until this matter is solved a court of law,” said Victor.
Victor urged the national government through the ministry of land to intervene and stop the cartels from grabbing lands in the region.
However, reached for a comment West Mugirango location Chief Livingston Mabuka denied that the land was grabbed.
“The land doesn’t belong to the government. The family used dubious means to acquire public land which was meant to construct Nyamokenye health center.
"I wish to urge the complainants to move to court if they have tangible evidence to claim being the owners of the land otherwise if it is compensation the government will not compensate anyone,” he said.
