The family of the man killed during Monday's anti-IEBC protests in Kisumu on Friday accused the police and Aga Khan hospital for covering up the cause of his death.
The family of the late Fredrick Ojwang whose postmortem revealed he was shot by a bullet says they suspect the hospital colluded with the police to give wrong information.
One of the deceased cousins Tom Misore said the Aga Khan hospital management that Monday claimed that the deceased died after falling down during a stampede.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Friday, Mr Misore said the same statement was also used by police yet the postmortem results have shown that he was shot and a bullet was retrieved from his body on Thursday.
The family doctor, Dr Ambrose Misore said the deceased did not have a chance to survival since the bullet hit his vital organs in the body and prompted him to fall down. He bled profusely.
In a quick rejoinder, the Medical Director in Charge of Aga Khan Hospital Dr Sam Oula denied any cover up as claimed by the family saying the victim did not have any obvious visible gunshot wounds when he was admitted.
Dr Oula said the cause of any death can only be confirmed after a postmortem is done adding that Aga Khan hospital remains committed to offering quality care to all patients.
