Faithful from different churches thronged Mau Summit Trading Centre in Kuresoi North Constituency following the wide spread of information that a family member was being disturbed by powerful evil spirits for four consecutive days.
Believers who were subdued with surprise spent the better part of the day praying for the family which is now living in shock over the indescribable behaviour of their 22-years-old daughter.
Family members who spoke to us said Hellen Wairimu started behaving uncomfortably after she declined a villager’s request of moving her from Mau Summit to Mombasa where she was promised employment.
Njuguna Kimando one of the relatives said that their daughter started behaving awkwardly claiming that there were evil spirits attacking her.
“On Saturday we went to hospital but the doctors told us that she was not sick. She was shouting loudly saying ….oh God help me… super power devils have attacked me, they want to move me from here to Mombasa as their sacrifice,” claimed Kimando.
Kimando said that money for transport was sent to her via Safaricom Mpesa, but on the material day, Wairimu left their home ready to go to Mombasa, but changed her mind before boarding a Mombasa bound bus at Total along the Nakuru–Eldoret Highway.
He said some of her inner cloths, necklaces and earrings went missing mysteriously some days after she declined to go to Mombasa.
The residents narrated how the evil spirits are controlling the victim claiming that the powers are enabling her to perform unnatural things - acting like wild animals.
The incident has made business to standstill with Mau Summit locals spending days and nights consoling and praying for the family.
They said the situation is worsening urging faithful from all walks of life to unite and fast for the sake of the suffering family.
