The family of the slain Eldoret based journalist John Kituyi has expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing police investigations terming them as shallow. Speaking to journalists on Thursday at the family's home in Munyaka, Uasin Gishu County, the deceased's wife Mrs Esther Kituyi said she believes that her husband's death could have been motivated by his journalistic work.
"So far the only arrest the Police have made is that of two guards who were near where Kituyi was killed. I don't think the two have anything to do with the murder. Let them go for the real perpetrators," she said.
Eldoret based human rights activist Ken Wafula who was also at the homestead echoed Kituyi's wife sentiments saying that the police investigation leave a lot to be desired.
"They arrested innocent guards without investigating properly. They are arresting people who could be potential witnesses,” said Wafula.
Kimilili MP Dr. Eseli Simiyu, who was also present, said that Kituyi's killers must be brought to book adding that they are demanding and not begging for answers.
The 63 year old scribe will be buried at his Munyaka home on Saturday.
