One family has been evacuated from their homestead after the Mai Mahiu - Suswa road faultline extended to their home, Monday.
Last week Wednesday, the fault line hampered transport activities on the road, forcing the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to intervene and repair the road.
The road sunk at Suswa area on Tuesday night causing a heavy traffic snarl up with motorists being forced to use alternative routes.
On Monday, however, the repaired section sunk again, affecting heavy commercial vehicles that use the route.

KeNHA Assistant Director - Corporate Communication, Charles Njogu said, the Authority had embarked on an immediate emergency exercise to restore the section using rock fill.
"Motorists are requested to bear with the situation, which is expected to necessitate traffic interruption which may last up to Four Hours as the Authority undertakes this exercise within the shortest time possible," Njogu said in a statement.
"In the meantime, the Authority is exploring the area to create a traffic diversion should the problem persist," he added.
On Tuesday, KeNHA alerted all motorists plying the Mai Mahiu-Suswa-Narok Road that a section of the road, 6 Kilometres from Mai Mahiu had developed a fault line stretching 700 meters, thus completely cutting the road off.
All motorists plying Bomet, Kisii and its environs were advised to use the Nakuru- Kericho – Kaplong Road, while those heading to Nairobi from Narok should use Narok – Nakuru – Nairobi Road.
The Authority said it had dispatched a team of engineers to the ground to assess the situation and come up with temporary measures to restore the traffic on Wednesday.
"Restoration works have commenced, and we expect the road to be opened within the next 48 hours," KeNHA said.
