A family in Makao Estate is living in agony after their two-years-old girl went missing without trace.
Jescah Waithera the mother of the baby told this writer on Wednesday at Makao Business Centre where she runs a food kiosk that her daughter (Agnes Nduta) had been seen last playing with other children at an Estate street on Saturday February 28 before she went missing later on that day.
She said her daughter’s mysterious disappearance has caused the family of four a great agony as efforts to trace her have proved to be fruitless.
According to the mother of two, her last born child was discovered missing after she failed to come home at around six in the evening as was her normal routine.
According to the mother, her missing daughter normally plays with other children and joints her six-year-old brother in the house at around six, but on that particular day she never showed up.
“When I returned home her brother told me that he thought the younger sister had joined me at the market as she sometimes did, that is the time we realised that Nduta was missing. I was shocked,’’ said Waithera.
The mother said she had called her husband who came home after receiving the bad news from his construction site before the couple started trying to trace their daughter’s where about.
Waithera claimed that police at Teachers Police Post had been less helpful after they told them to check out with all neighbours and relatives.
The mother says her husband Philip Kang’ethe has been unable to concentrate on his work because of the agony he is undergoing following the missing of their child.
The area Sub-Chief Wesley Karani while confirming the incident said that his office is assisting the family to trace their kin after receiving the report on Sunday.
