A family in Manyatta estate in Kisumu City is appealing for financial support from well wishers so that their son who was born without the anal opening can undergo surgery.
George Odongo, the father said his son identified as Felix, two months old, was born without the opening at the Kisumu County Hospital.
He said they discovered the abnormality soon after his wife Catherine Kazungu gave birth to the baby boy.
"My wife gave birth through operation after which we discovered the abnormality. We were transferred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Uashin Gishu County where the child was operated on in the stomach in order to make him able to go for long call," he said in an interview on Wednesday.
"The problem now is that the place he was operated on is now oozing blood, which makes him not able to go for long call and breastfeed due to the pain he is undergoing," he added.
He said his son needs urgent and special medical attention, but the family cannot afford it.
