The family has now pleaded with the government and well wishers to help raise the money to secure their kin's release at the foreign health facility.
Family spokesperson Dickson Nyanyuki said on Tuesday that their father, Ezekiel Atani , according to the Apollo Navi Hospital will ot leave the facility unless he clears the medical bill.
Nyanyuki said there father was flown to India for specialised treatment after he developed a growth in the head and subsequently experienced mild headaches.
He said their father, despite having a huge medical bill still requires to undergo another operations but there is no money tocater for the same.
"He developed the problem in 2002 and has been living with it until we flew him to India. We did not expect the medical bill to go up," Nyanyuki told reporters in Nyamira.
Nyanyuki said the family has spent all the money at its disposal and is calling on companies as well as government to intervene and help settle the medical bill and raise more money for another scheduled operation.
There are thousands of Kenyans, including MPs, who are seeking for medical help in India.
