[Photo|Busia County Government]A family in Rwatama village in Teso North Sub-county that survived grenade attack planted in their permanent house are still in shock two days after the incident.Philip Ikeya, Nandi County Transport Officer said it was God's grace that his wife and two children came out of the house unhurt after the grenade exploded on Sunday night.Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Ikeya said his family survived death by a whisker after the planted grenade missed the target and damaged the iron sheets.Ikeya who was not at home said those who planted the grenade thought he was at home, an indication that they were after his life."My wife who was in the house during the attack said she had dogs barking and later an explosion. When she rushed to the sitting room she found soil," he said.Teso security team led by District County Commissioner Justus Musau and OCPD Onesmus Kombe visited the scene where bomb experts took soil samples and wires to ascertain the type of explosion used.Angurai South ward MCA Grace Omasete condemned the incident and called for thorough investigations into the cause of the grenade attack and action taken on the perpetrators."Such an incident has not happened in my ward before and it might scare residents who are in the diaspora from returning to settle in their ancestral homes," she said.
