On Tuesday, two factions from the late Moseti Ondibo’s family, formerly working with Microsoft Cooperation in New York, were busy in Kisii town trying to secure legal services.

According to the faction lead by first wife Ruth Ondiba’s children, the second family has been playing hide and seek to have them locked out of wealth distribution of a real estate in Nakuru, several rental houses in Kisumu and a hotel in Mombasa.

“We are shocked that they have disowned the will of our father. We will not accept this and we are going to challenge them in court. They are planning to sell the estate, and that is why it is important to secure a court injunction,” said Moses Ondiba on behalf of the first family.

But in defence, the second wife, Mary Ondiba dismissed the allegations as mere ‘politics’ since the deceased had indicated the procedures of inheriting his property.

“Mzee put everything in order before he passed on in New York last year. They are insincere to try and subject us in courts over a small issue like this,” she said.

Among the lawyers whose services may be crucial to the first family; are Senior Counsel Okong’o O’ Mogeni and George Kegoro.
