The family of David Wokabi, a banker who was allegedly brutally killed by night guards Friday morning, have taken to the streets to protest the heinous murder of their kin. According to the family’s spokesperson, John Njoroge, the government should intervene and speed up investigation and prosecution of those culpable.

David Wokabi, who was a banker at Stanbic Bank, Nyali branch in Mombasa, met his death after he was reportedly assaulted by at least five-night guards, according to a CCTV footage, at Nyali Centre where he had gone to answer to the call of nature.

The poor banker was left lying prostrate on the ground near the Nyali Center gate passed out.

Wokabi’s family has given the Nyali Center a two-day ultimatum to send away the Sovit Security firm who are the first to be blamed for Wokabi’s murder.

They issued a two-day ultimatum to the Nyali Centre management to kick out Solvit Security firm blamed for the brutal murder on their premises.

According to the family’s spokesman, John Njoroge justice must be served for the departed.

“We are demanding that the government gets to the bottom of this matter and ensure that we know the reason why our son, our brother, a father and husband was brutally murdered in cold blood,” said Njoroge.

It is reported that the night guards guarding Nyali Center committed the atrocity at 3 a.m. He was rescued and rushed to Jocham Hospital where his wounds were nursed and later transferred to Agha Khan Hospital where he died in the Intensive Care Unit while receiving treatment.

According to Mombasa County Commander, Johnstone Ipara investigation is going on.

It is quite unfortunate to the members of the late David Wokabi’s family. We are very sorry for what has happened. As we speak, two guards are in police custody while three others are on the run but I am sure we will catch up with them,” said Ipara.
