The family of Joseph Kiarie, who was killed on December 24th, is coming to terms over his death, even as police continue with investigations.
The National Transport and Safety Authority has said that it has taken action against the those involved, suspending the license of Maremba Sacco, whose matatu crew are said to have been involved in the incident.
The driver and the conductor of the motor vehicle with registration number KCF 793Z are said to be part of a group that attacked and killed Kiarie following a traffic disagreement.
Kiarie is said to have been hit with a blunt object at the back of his head, leading to his death.
He died before he could get to the hospital.
But even as the Sacco is suspended for failing to control its crew from assaulting the deceased, it has been reprimanded for failing to take the necessary steps after the incident.
No arrests have been made so far since the crew of the bus is said to have disappeared immediately after the incident.
NTSA now wants the Sacco to fully cooperate with their officers, and help apprehend those that were involved in the treacherous act.
The Sacco has also been directed to first conduct a safety workshop for both its drivers and conductors before they are allowed to operate.
At Kiarie’s home in Thika, the family is crying for justice for their son.
