The family of slain terror suspect Hussein Said Omar has said it found out about his death through social media.
The police had placed a Sh2 million bounty on his head before he was killed after being trailed for years.According to his elder sister, Aisha Omar, the deceased disappeared three years ago and cut communication with the family. Aisha also said the family has received several calls following the news about Omar’s death, adding that they never knew about his whereabouts until the announcement of his death.“I knew about his death on Facebook when people were posting about his death and then I started receiving calls on the same later. I was shocked when I received news of his death because we did not know of his whereabouts,” said Aisha, as quoted by the Nation.Aisha also said family members used to see Omar’s pictures circulating all over the country over links to terror related activities but could not assist in any way. Omar was buried on Saturday evening at Manyimbo Muslim Cemetery in Tudor after prayers at the Masjid Khayrat in Kiziwi.
