Mr. Kefa Nyamari and his wife Everlyn Nyanchama had brought their daughter Jennifer Kemunto last week to the  hospital to under go a surgery of a growth in her nostril.

Mr Kefa said that their daughter was in a stable condition when she was accompanied by her mother to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital for the minor surgery and was admitted in ward number eight to await the surgery.

"The girl had some growths in her nose that caused nasal congestion. They were more problematic during the cold season, and she could not breath properly and the doctors recommended for a surgery," said. Mr Nyamari.

On Wednesday last week at 12:00 noon, the girl was taken to the theater room and anesthesia was administered ready for the surgery.

But even after this was done, the girl did not undergo the operation and the family was not told the reason as to why that happened.

“I became suspicious when my daughter took long in theater. A similar surgery for my first born son aged four took only 30 minutes,” he said.

The baby's mother said after some hours in theater, the baby was taken to the ICU by some hospital staff in a suspicious manner, which she suspected was aimed to prevent her from seeing her baby's condition.

Nyanchama said the hospital staff did not explain why they had not performed surgery on her daughter, and why she had been moved to the ICU.

At the ICU baby had tubes in her mouth and nose and the family was not allowed to take photos.

"We were later told that the girl was no more on Friday," she said.
