A family has called upon Kenyans assist them in footing the hospital bill for their son who is suffering from a congenital heart disease.

According to reports, Gibran Msheve has been battling congenital heart disease, a sickness which is known to affect the structure of the heart.

The family is currently seeking Sh1 million for surgery.

The disease is known to disrupt blood flow to the heart.

According to MedlinepPlus, the blood flow can slow down, go in the wrong direction or to the wrong place, or be blocked completely.

"The patient needs surgical intervention," Dr Bakari Suleiman, the pediatric cardiologist who has been treating Msheve says in a letter as reported by The Star.

Msheve who is 27 years of age was adopted by the Philister Muna's family family after his parents died.

"At times he's unable to breath. He rarely walks 10-meter distances because he wears out quickly," Mrs. Muna said.

The 27 year old is set to undergo an operation in January at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
