The University of Nairobi has been on the forefront of Campus Politics in the country with famous politicians in the country once being leaders in the Institution. Here are famous NASA Politicians who were once student leaders in the Institution:
1. James Orengo
The Siaya Senator James Orengo who is one of the major politicians in the NASA coalition was elected as the Students Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) Chairman while studying law at the University of Nairobi, a position he held from 1972 to 1973.
2. Miguna Miguna
The self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) General who was deported to Canada after spearheading Raila Odinga's swearing-in was elected as the Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) in 1987 while studying at the Institution.
3. Babu Owino
Babu Owino is the latest student leader to join politics after winning the Embakasi East Parliamentary seat. He is the longest-serving students Organization of Nairobi University (SONU)
