Moi University is a public university with its main campus located in Kesses area, on the outskirts of Eldoret town.
It is one of the country's top learning institutions. There are a number of famous politicians in the country who graduated from Moi University.

Aden Duale
He is a Kenyan member of Parliament representing Garissa Township constituency. Duale graduated from Moi University in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Education Economics and History.
Omar Hassan
The former Mombasa county Senator was a student of Moi University and was elected as the Institution's student leader while pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Law.
James Ole Kiyapi
Ole Kiyapi was a presidential candidate in the 2013 general election on a Restore and Build Kenya Party RBK. In 1988 he graduated from the Moi University and with a fruit class honors degree (BSc) in Forestry.
Mwangi Kiunjuri
Kiunjuri Festus Mwangi is the current Agriculture Cabinet Secretary. He is a former Laikipia East MP where he served from 2007 up to 2013. From 1990-1994, Kiunjuri was an undergraduate student at Moi University pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
Joshua Kutuny
He belonged to ODM before he defected to URP. He was elected to represent the Cherangani constituency as a member of Parliament. He graduated from Moi University with a Bachelor's of arts degree.
