The defection of Wiper secretary general Hassan Omar to Jubilee is inconsequential and will not deter the opposition coalition Nasa from winning the October 26 repeat polls, former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has revealed.

Speaking Monday, Farah who is the deputy party leader of Wiper ,said that the former Mombasa senator's defection was clearly pegged on selfish interes and would not shake the coalition.

"His defection is quite inconsequential. We had seen it coming. However, one thing that Jubilee oughts to know is that no matter how many defections they engineer, the coast region will always remain a formidable Nasa stronghold. Omar could probably be looking for a job," he told NTV.

The former Kenya National Human Rights Commission (KNHRC) on Sunday publicly pledged to work with the Jubilee party accusing Nasa of being undemocratic and abetting witch-hunt against election officials.
