Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim. He has lauded National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi over his decision to adjourn parliamentary proceedings on Wednesday. (The Star).Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has lauded National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi over his decision to send the house in recess following the failure to constitute key parliamentary committees.MPs who had just resumed sitting after a month-long break to take part in the repeat presidential election will now have to contend with another three weeks absence after the opposition once more failed to send their nominees for key House leadership and committee membership rendering house business inoperational. However, Maalim who was speaking to KTN on Thursday hailed the decision saying that there is need to resolve Nasa's dissafection before the legislature can resume operations."I believe Muturi did well to adjourn the House because what we find ourselves in is a crisis. There are committees that must be headed solely by the opposition and their reasons for abstinence needs to be looked at," he said. However, there is some glimmer of hope after Muturi indicated that his office had received a request from the opposition outfit asking for more time to enable them come up with their leadership list.
