Wiper Party Deputy leader Farah Maalim has said he does not support the proposal to swear in Raila Odinga as president.
Maalim, a former deputy speaker of the National assembly, said Odinga taking the oath will be a recipe for chaos.
“I have said before that I was not part of the decision-making process that settled on swearing in Raila. That will be a recipe for chaos,” Maalim said on Monday during an interview on NTV.
Maalim, a Nasa leader, said the proposed oath taking by the former prime minister has no legal basis.
Odinga on November 28 announced that he will be sworn in as “the people’s president” on December 12 this year.
He boycotted the October 26 presidential poll, saying it was a predetermined process.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was inaugurated for a second term in office last week Tuesday.
The opposition has insisted that they do not recognise Kenyatta as president.
