Speaking during an intetview with NTV on Monday, the former National Assembly deputy speaker regretted the current hardline stance taken by the two main parties in the country, Nasa and Jubilee, saying that the position does not favor the interest of the country.

"What we need at the moment is political tolerance. Both Nasa and Jubilee must agree to come together to resolve the current impasse if we are to move together as a country," he said.

"If Jubilee decides to go to the elections on their own then such an election will lack credibility and that is how nations fail", he added.

Whereas Nasa maintains that the elections will not go on until their 'irreducible minimum' conditions are met, their Jubilee counterparts have dared them to make good their threat saying that should are ready to proceed to the polls even if it means president Uhuru Kenyatta will be the sole candidate.
