He has warned against tribal politics that he says is gaining momentum in the country.] (mpasho.co.ke)Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has warned politicians in the country against advocating for tribal politics saying they risk plunging the nation into chaos.Speaking during a breakfast show on NTV on Monday, the former National Assembly deputy speaker said it was worrying to hear leaders vilify other Kenyans based on their ethnic orientation maintaining that such developments was pretending doom for Kenya."This is how failed states begin with leaders openly drumming support for tribal based politics.As a country we are heading there if we are not careful.We must all rise and reject this direction that some of these leaders are hellbent on leading us to," he said.Maalim also appealed to president Uhuru Kenyatta and Nasa presidential contender Raila Odinga to compromise on their hardline stance especially on the electoral reforms to enable the country pull together.Odinga insists that some of the poll officials whom he accuses of stealing his votes must resign while president Kenyatta maintains that Iebc must conduct the October 26 repeat polls as currently constituted.
