About 43 sheep were killed on Monday morning by a pride of lions in Kajiado County.

The attack occurred on a 900-acre ranch belonging to the family of Daniel Wuantai.

The sheep are valued at Sh655,000.

“This is a great loss to the family because we all depended on the sheep for food and school fees. The drought being experienced here has forced us to move our cattle away,” said Wuantai.

All the animals that were killed were special Dorpers from South Africa.

According to the Star, more than 50 sheep had not been accounted.
