Durin the last planting season, the worm destroyed many crops, especially in the North Rift region.

Yego while speaking on Friday at Jagir Farm during a mini-field day organized by Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) on potato, Yego urged farmers to make use of cooperatives citing the County's move of offering free transportation of fertilisers to their various stores.

He further urged the youth to engage in activities that will see them grow economically.

"As a County, we have invested in a potato planter and harvester. It is upon you as youths to make use of what the County has in place for you," said Yego.
