The farmers led by chairman of Riking’oina buying centre Makori Osinde, Orina deserves another term since she has been a keynote in championing the construction of Matunua tea factory.

Osinde added that there are some individuals who have started campaigning against Orina with the aim of moving the proposed factory to another region.

"We need the factory built at Matunua as per the minutes from Nyansiongo state. We urge those against the facility to put aside their differences since the factory will benefit us all," said Osinde.

The farmers accused a section of county leaders who want the factory moved to Nyamiranga despite MUtunua farmers donating land for its construction.

“We are ready for the factory since some of the farmers have donated land for its construction. Those opposing the factory are driven by selfish interests, besides discriminating us in job opportunities in the county,” added Mogoma Ochoke.

“They also want Rachel not be re-elected so that they can get the chance of moving the proposed factory to another site. We urge our fellow farmers to re-elect her; so that we can realise our dream," she added.
