The society’s chairman Silver Nyangoki told the farmers at the society’s grounds that he discovered that Abel Morang’a had deposited the money to the account for allegedly buying the society’s 0.6 hectares prime land near Daraja Mbili market in Kisii county.

Nyangoki said some bogus officials forged the title deed, number 611 which they used to process the documents and sell the land to the unsuspecting investor, defrauding him of his money.

“I went to withdraw money to pay workers and was shocked to find the huge amount in the account, prompting me to trace the depositor and why,” said Nyangoki.

He added that he had obtained a court order from Kisii high court Judge J Mutungi baring Morang’a from developing the land till the matter is heard and determined by the concerned parties on March 31.

The order, obtained by Birongo Farmers Cooperative Society Limited lists Morang’a, Patrick Mokaya, James Makori, Annah Nyakerario and land Registry Kisii County as respondents respectively.
